Clippers Griffin Jersey, Now that the 2009-10 regular season is finished, I thought it would be a good time to do a re-draft for the lottery of the 2009 NBA Draft. Basically, it\'s a look at what the teams that picked in the lottery would do now that they\'ve seen the rookie class play a full season in the pros.
Los Angeles Clippers – Tyreke Evans, Guard (Real Pick: Blake Griffin): Evans was incredibly impressive in his rookie season, winning the Rookie of the Year award by averaging 20, 5 and 5 in Sacramento. He\'s a beast physically and routinely overpowers opposing defenders. He gets to the basket at will and has a better outside shot that was initially advertised. While I think the Clippers would still consider selecting Blake Griffin on his potential, some Clippers Griffin Jersey of his sizzle is gone and Evans could sell a ton of NBA tickets in L.A.
Memphis Grizzlies – Blake Griffin, Power Forward (Real Pick: Hasheem Thabeet): Griffin could still definitely go number one; he\'s that talented, so I can\'t see him slipping past number two, even with the injury. Griffin would be a nice fit in Memphis. He\'d be able to play behind Zach Randolph while he gets used to being on the court again, Clippers Griffin Jersey and would help the team avoid giving Randolph the huge extension he\'s seeking. The pair could play together on the court at times as well, with Z-Bo at center.
Oklahoma City Thunder – Stephen Curry, Point Guard (Real Pick: James Harden): Harden has fit in well in OKC and helped the team get to the playoffs in 2009-10 as a bench player, but imagine this team with Curry. His long-range shooting ability would be deadly with Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook and he looks like a future star. Sam Presti erred on the side of caution with the Harden pick, but one can\'t help but imagine what could have been here.
Sacramento Kings – Brandon Jennings, Point Guard (Real Pick: Tyreke Evans): Jennings set the league on fire early on in the 2009-10 season with a 55-point game. He struggled down the stretch with his shooting, but bounced back in a big way in the postseason. He\'s a stud.
Minnesota Timberwolves – Ricky Rubio, Point Guard (Real Pick: Ricky Rubio): The mistake the Wolves made was not in drafting Rubio, but in selecting another point guard with the following pick. Rubio was scared off by that, but I think he would have come to Minnesota had they selected a player of another position. Rubio looked really good in Europe this past season, and still projects as a very good NBA player.
Minnesota Timberwolves – James Harden, Shooting Guard (Real Pick: Johnny Flynn): Harden would fill a major hole at the two-spot and give Rubio more incentive to cross the Atlantic.
Golden State Warriors – Marcus Thornton, Shooting Guard (Real Pick: Stephen Curry): There are still some quality point guards available, but the Warriors have to Clippers Griffin Jersey stick with Monta Ellis at the point if they truly believe in him. Thornton is a gifted scorer and a solid shooter that would make more sense next to a ball-dominant player like Ellis. This would be more of a need pick than a best-player-available selection.
New York Knicks – Rodrique Beaubois, Point Guard (Real Pick: Jordan Hill): Many people will be surprised to see Beaubois here over Darren Collison, but I think he\'s a better fit. Beaubois is a much better shooter, which is of great importance in Mike D\'Antoni\'s offense, and his ceiling is higher than Collison\'s. Nobody would complain if they chose Collison, including myself, but I think Beaubois will be a big-time point guard in this league.
Toronto Raptors – Jrue Holiday, Point Guard (Real Pick: DeMar DeRozan): The Raptors don\'t seem all that sold on Jose Calderon anymore, so point guard makes sense here. Again, Collison had the better rookie season, but Holiday is a better fit and projects better in the long-term.
Milwaukee Bucks – Darren Collison, Point Guard (Real Pick: Brandon Jennings): Scott Skiles would love Collison\'s unselfishness and defense. He\'d be a great fit here.
New Jersey Nets – Jonas Jerebko, Forward (Real Pick: Terrence Williams): Jerebko flew under the radar for most of the season, but he had a really solid rookie campaign. He can play both forward positions and does a little bit of everything. He\'d be a nice piece for the Nets to build with.
Charlotte Bobcats – DeMar DeRozan, Shooting Guard (Real Pick: Gerald Henderson): The Bobcats need to generate some more offense, as they lack that takeover player. While DeRozan needs time to develop, he can already contribute some minutes and has huge offensive potential.
Indiana Pacers – Ty Lawson, Point Guard (Real Pick: Tyler Hansbrough): The Pacers desperately need a point guard, and it\'s unfortunate that they passed on so many good ones in the real draft. Lawson had a nice rookie season backing up Chauncey Billups in Denver and would likely start on the Pacers right now.
Phoenix Suns – Taj Gibson, Power Forward (Real Pick: Earl Clark): DeJuan Blair could also be an option here, but Gibson fits the Phoenix system better. He was surprisingly effective for Chicago in his rookie season and the Suns could definitely use a player of his length and athleticism.
